Chestnut trees flourish on Slovenia’s hillsides, yielding one of the region’s most iconic and highly prized honeys. This is the "dark chocolate" of the honey world. It is unapologetically bold and intended for those who prefer a more savory sweetness. 

Flavor Profile: Dark reddish-brown with a bold, herbal, and characteristically bitter finish. It is high in tannins and stays liquid for a very long time.

The Polhov Gradec Edge: Polhov Gradec is known for its vast chestnut forests. Our bees collect a high concentration of chestnut pollen, giving this honey its powerful, medicinal punch.

Best For: Traditional Slovenian baking (like potica), or drizzled over a strong Gorgonzola.
