Red Wine IAQIUN Jak Red – Goriška Brda, Slovenia
Vinification: Maceration 12 days in contact with skins and seeds in a stainless steel container. Gentle compression with a pneumatic press. Wine is fermented with the grapes yeast. Natural maturing in barrique oak barrels for 3 years. Ageing potential: 2020 – 2030.
Characteristics: Classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is bright ruby, the color is deep but still transparent. The scent comes first with intense prunes and black currants, then softens and gives way to light tones of blackberries and blueberries. In the mouth, the wine is dry and warm, with a soft freshness and a slightly mineral finish. The aftertaste is pleasant and light, insistently calling for continuation.
Food pairings: Goes very well with steak or prosciutto. Perhaps, it will come in handy for mature mountain cheeses with a rich taste and smell. Serving temperature: 16 – 18°C.
