White Wine Malvasia IAQIUN – Goriška Brda, Slovenia
Vinification: Short maceration 2-3 hours in contact with skins and seeds in a stainless steel container. Gentle compression with a pneumatic press. The wine is fermented with the grapes yeast. Natural maturing in barrique oak barrels for 10 months. Ageing potential: 2024 – 2029.
Characteristics: Wine of medium-deep golden yellow color. The bouquet is intense, starting with a delicate honey aroma, gradually revealing caramel, vanilla and flowers. Ripe pears and apricots appear in the background. In the mouth, the wine is dry, but oily and less mineral than Malvasia from Slovenian Istra. Long, warm and soft aftertaste.
Food pairings: Pairs well with grilled fish or seafood: mussels, shrimps, shellfish, scallops. Serving temperature: 10 °C.
