White Wine Chardonnay Fornazarič – Vipava Valley, Slovenia
Vinification: 48-hour maceration, 12-month maturation on fine lees in a large oak barrel, then another 12 months in a stainless steel container. Bottled after two years of maturation in an underground cellar, further maturation takes place in bottles.
Characteristics: The wine is golden yellow in colour and quite dense in the glass. The bouquet is intense and mostly fruity, with a ripe peach touch. Buttery and freshness are perceptible. In the mouth, the wine is pleasantly creamy at first, then fruit flavours open up, complemented by crunchy minerality and freshness. The aftertaste is long and pleasant.
Food pairings: Poultry, pasta, risotto, lobster, salmon, aged or salty cheeses. To serve at 10 – 12 °C.
